In November 2018, the UN Human Rights Office launched a special series to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the UDHR, which was adopted in Paris on 10 December 1948. Immediately, there was disagreement among the UN states. No one needs to earn human rights they are born with them. It has been more than 70 years since world leaders, driven by the desire to prevent another Holocaust, explicitly spelled out the rights everyone on the planet could expect and demand simply because they are human beings. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is the first international agreement setting out freedoms, rights and entitlements for all humanity to claim. Everyone is entitled to a social and international order in which the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration can be fully realized.
